The King of Buganda Kingdom His Majesty Ssaabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II launched a health campaign code named “Tubeere Balamu”, literally translated “Let us be healthy”.
This program is through the Kabaka Foundation and it is intended to uplift the health standards of Kabaka’s subjects.
“Tubeere Balamu” will entail checking of the people for different ailments and quickly addressing the problems through various health camps organized in the 18 counties (Masaza) of Buganda Kingdom.
These health camps officially commenced with Buddu Ssaza, the newly crowned champions of the 2024 Buganda Masaza football championship.
Nnalinya Sarah Kagere officially launched the “Tubeere Balamu” campaign as chief guest who also delivered Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II’s bold message.
“Tubeere Balamu will help the people of Buganda Kingdom to access medical services at free or minimal costs”. Nnalinya Kagere read Kabaka’s message.
The first health camp was hosted by Buddu Ssaza.
Diseases as Sickle cells, Prostate cancer, breast cancer, Fistula, HIV/AIDS and others are all being handled as well as routine eye check-up.
The message from the Buganda Kingdom prime minister Oweek. Charles Peter Mayiga was delivered by the speaker of the Lukiiko (Buganda Parliament Oweek. Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule.
Oweek. Mayiga lauded the Kabaka for this special initiative intended to uplift the health standards through the Kabaka Foundation.
The Tubele Balamu Health campaign will commence for three years (2024-2027).
