So Darn Hot
Given the weight to make an impact here as his rivals have to carry penalties for winning.
And the Too Darn Hot gelding has shown enough form to suggest he could be well-weighted.
He was seventh of seven at Salisbury in good to firm conditions back in June and was quickly gelded before going for a wind op a month later.
Returned to go well at 50/1 placing third of 11 and that puts him in contention down in trip to 5f for the first time and may have the speed and weight in his favour at a nice value price.
Jackpot Des Bordes
Paul Nicholls horses have been going well of late, with three winners in his last seven runners, including the impressive Rubaud at Kempton on Sunday.
He has the current market favourite (at time of writing) at 5/4, Jackpot Des Bordes.
Ace Of Spades was surprisingly out of it in 4th at Uttoxeter on hurdle debut when 10/11 favourite earlier this month.
But the Nicholls-trained horse was a very encouraging 2nd behind the heavy odds-on favourite Celtic Dino, making it a close contest and nearly causing a big upset as he was as short as 4/9.
That horse has since gone on to win by a mile on his hurdle debut, last week so it’s no surprise this gelding has the support.
