Tuesday horse racing tips

  • LEICESTER
    2.30: Toy Soldier 11/4 (1pt)
    3.00: Alfareqa 11/8 (1.5pts)
  • REDCAR
    2.50: Requiem 11/10 (1pt)
  • WOLVERHAMPTON
    6.42: Cajole 10/11 (1.5pts)

Toy Soldier

Bust A Moon is a well-backed favourite for this one but is still at a 15/8 price, still with a bit of uncertainty given his progress made over 5f recently.

His win over Larchill Lass at Beverley was a great step in the right direction and coped with a rise in the ratings before being dropped 3lb for his second place finish at Chepstow.

Now has 7lb claimer Jack Callan on board though so that gives him a huge chance back up to 7f where he has been seen before as a two-year-old.

Midnight City also presents a huge threat on a much reduced mark.

He did place fourth in a maiden over 7f at Southwell when rated 76 but is now down to 68 – but that winning ability is something that is needed to be confident he can find that determination.

This gives Toy Soldier more say for George Scott and jockey Danny Muscutt.

The Soldier’s Call gelding won over this distance in a maiden back in August and nearly followed it up again on heavy ground at Ffos Las.

He’s not quite been seen to the same effect since however, he’s now 1lb lower than that effort and this is a very winnable race given his rivals.

Alfareqa

11/8 for a good reason as she went on well to win at 7f on seasonal debut in a maiden contest at Doncaster.

Should have more to offer over 1m and looks to potentially have more on offer than Pina Sonata.

She was a big winner last time out but was carrying 10lb less than her rival at Wolverhampton, Miss Justice, in second place who has some good form herself.

That horse finished second again at Wolverhampton on the 22nd of this month, so it’s more than worth siding with Alfareqa on this occasion.

Requiem

Has progressed with each step up in trip all while being gelded before his outing last time out, which suggests more progression is coming for this Sir Mark Prescott-trained horse.

The extra 2f today should prompt more progress too which seems to be the aim as they get to grips with his stamina and clearly looks the sort to go well over further.

Cajole

Won on debut on the all-weather last time out, here over 1m and winning very well.

That seemed to confirm her potential shown on debut at Newbury and looks to justify a short price on her third run.

Plenty of appeal for John & Thady Gosden in the Cheveley Park Stud colours, with Robert Havlin on board.
