Saudi boxing chief Turku Alalshikh has hinted at a huge cross-over fight between Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones.

Jones vs Ngannou would be one of the biggest MMA bouts of all time, with both men holding championship titles in their respective promotions.

Ngannou was crowned the PFL’s inaugural Super Fight heavyweight champion after beating Renan Ferreira in October.

The bout came two-and-a-half years after ‘The Predator’ announced he would be leaving the UFC, due to reported contract issues with UFC President Dana White.

Jones, meanwhile, is the UFC’s poster boy, on top of being their current heavyweight champion.

White has been adamant numerous times that the 37-year-old is the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world.

‘Bones’ won the heavyweight belt in March 2023 by making easy work of France’s Ciryl Gane and submitting him in the first round.

This came after a three-year MMA hiatus, due to a torn pec injury, but Jones has since gone on to defend his heavyweight strap against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309.

Alalshikh has staged boxing’s biggest fights over the past few years. as part of Saudi Arabia’s entertainment festival Riyadh Season.

This includes Tyson Fury’s first bout with Oleksandr Usyk and the pair’s rematch on December 21.

He’s also the man that put Ngannou into the ring with Fury, who beat the MMA legend in controversial fashion having been dropped in round three, and Anthony Joshua.

‘AJ’ knocked Ngannou out cold in their March bout, after flooring him twice in the second round.

“Francis will come to me in December to watch the [Fury vs Usyk] rematch,” Alalshikh said on a show with Ariel Helwani and Ade Oladipo.

“We have a lot of business together. Yes, I have on the table two options for Francis: one in MMA and one in boxing I want to discuss.”

When pressed on the potential options, Alalshikh was cryptic with his response.

“The MMA, you know all the time, my answer is all the time we want to do the biggest things,” he said.

Host Helwani then pressed Alalshikh again, specifically on the MMA option to see if UFC champion Jones was in the conversation.

Alalshikh simply added a prolonged: “Beep,” as if to say he would no longer comment on the matter.

“We need to send Dana White to the moon.” he added.

The Saudi boxing chief also mentioned Deontay Wilder as a potential opponent for the Cameroonian, depending on the former’s condition.

In the same interview, Alalshikh confirmed that 48-year-old Wladimir Klitschko could return to rematch Fury and become boxing’s oldest-ever heavyweight champion.

George Foreman currently holds the record having become a world title holder at the age of 45 in 1994.
