Two Ugandans Okello, Kiwanuka appointed for CAF duties | CAF Confederation Cup 2-24

CAF Confederation Cup 2024:

Confederation of Africa Football Association (CAF) appointed two Ugandans for the CAF confederation match between Algeria’s USM Alger and Cote D’Ivoire’s ASEC Mimosa.

Dixon Adol “Bond” Okello will be in charge as the head of safety and security operations.

Sumaya Hood Kiwanuka shall serve as the assistant general coordinator.

This match shall be played on Sunday, 15th December 2024 at the intimidating Alger Stade 5 July 1962 stadium in Algeria’s capital city, Algeris.

Both officials appointed from Uganda are tried and proven having worked across the continent on different assignments.

For CAF to consider these two Ugandans for such a high profile contest further underscores the diligence, loyalty, commitment and high degree of professionalism that the Ugandans have exhibited over the years.

Okello is a FIFA and CAF trained personnel in safety and security operations. Over the years, he has duly served during various international engagements on CAF and FIFA levels including the FIFA U-17 World Cup, Africa Cup of Nations, Championship of African Nations (CHAN), CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup tournaments and others.

Similarly, Kiwanuka has also been a regular figure for AFCON and CHAN tournaments as well as the inter-clubs competitions.
