UCU Lady Doves registered a 3-0 victory against KAVC in the National Basketball League at the Lugogo Arena on Wednesday evening.

The Lady Doves made it three victories in as many games played in the ongoing campaign. Earlier UCU secured victories against KACV and Ndejje Elites.

It was a party for the Mukono-based institution that registered two victories coming from the men’s and women’s camp in the midweek clash.

UCU took an early lead of 25-18 as KAVC ladies struggled to receive the hard efforts from Juma Osunge’s troops.

Despite KAVC’s fight in the second set, the Lady Doves came out of the kiln with a 26-24 lead as the crowd joined the action in full voice.

The third set was closely contested since KAVC struggled to return to the game but the Lady Doves were not ready to place a foot wrong.

Osuge revealed that his side is fighting to collect points early in the season so that they avoid unnecessary pressure as the league unfolds.

“We have talked about this as a team, we want to win as many games as possible so that we do not attract unnecessary pressure as the league gets to later stages,” he said.

“At some point we lost concentration in the second set but we made a few changes and found a solution to the growing intimidation,” he added.
