UFC bantamweight Garrett Armfield urged Dana White to ‘investigate these judges’ after a shock loss against Serhiy Sidey.

At UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs Albazi, Sidey won via split decision in the prelims despite also claiming he lost the fight against Armfield.

The Canadian-Ukrainian fighter appeared to win the first round as many fans and spectators agreed, but then the American began to get the better of him from round two onwards.

Armfield seemed to outpoint Sidey in those two rounds but he ended up losing 29-28 on the judges scorecards.

Writing on X, in a now-delete post, he said: “INVESTIGATE THESE JUDGES. HALF MY PAY WITH THIS INFLATION, SOMEONE CALL [Trump, White].”

Sidey also confessed to thinking he lost the bout in the post fight press conference. He said: “When the judges were calling the scorecards I thought I lost, I’ll be honest but I have to rewatch the fight. That was the hardest fight I’ve ever had I think.

“He mixed up his wrestling really well, great boxing and the strongest 135er I’ve ever fought for sure. That dude had some crazy strength.”

Sidey now has a record of 11-2 while Armfield is 10-5.

The controversial fight was in the prelims of the event headlined by former bantamweight champion Branadon Moreno and Amir Albazi.

Moreno was able to come out on top with a decision win, stepping closer to regaining the belt.

UFC 309 will be the next major UFC event, set to take place at Madison Square Garden, New York.

The main event is potentially a legendary fight as Jon Jones defends his heavyweight belt against Stipe Miocic.

Jones, the fighter with one defeat due to disqualification, also has been involved in controversial judge decisions.

His last fight at light heavyweight was against Dominick Reyes who took Jones through all five rounds.

Most fans were of the opinion that Reyes had won rounds one through three but the judges awarded an official unanimous win to the all-time great.

Earlier this year Reyes claimed once again that he beat Jones in an interview with Ariel Helwani.

“But forever he’ll be also known as that he lost to me. Maybe we can figure that out one day. It’s not a belief. It’s a fact,” he said.

The 38-year-old on X responded: “What a claim to fame, almost beat Jon Jones. Got full of myself and literally couldn’t win another fight.”
