Georges St-Pierre is still throwing weights around at the age of 43.

St-Pierre, known as GSP to fans, is one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time and only lost two of his 28 professional MMA bouts during a remarkable 15-year career.

The former UFC welterweight champion defended his belt 11 times, before relinquishing the title after defeating Michael Bisping and retiring in November 2017.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan mentioned the Canadian MMA great on a recent episode of his podcast with Donald Trump.

“There’s a lot of arguments for who’s the greatest of all time,” he said.

“Jon Jones, most people would say is the greatest of all time, never lost. There’s certainly a really good argument for that. There’s another argument for Georges St- Pierre.

“I always leave in BJ Penn in his prime, Anderson Silva in his prime. Mighty Mouse [Demetrious Johnson].

“People forget about Mighty Mouse because unfortunately he’s a smaller guy, he’s 125 pounds, flyweight champion. He’s one of the greatest expressions of mixed martial arts I’ve ever seen. I think to this day.”

St-Pierre was renowned for his elite grappling and ability to dominate opponents on the ground in the UFC.

He is just two wins behind Jon Jones for the most title victories in Dana White’s promotion with 13 and beat some of the biggest UFC stars such Penn, Nick Diaz and Dan Hardy.

‘Rush’ also has the most control time in the UFC and landed the most takedowns in the organisation ahead of current bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili.

St-Pierre was renowned for keeping himself in incredible shape during his UFC career too.

He took to X on Sunday to offer an insight into one of his full body workouts that he learnt from UFC icon Randy Couture.

“This is called a Barbell Complex. It is five reps of five exercises five times,” he said.

“It takes less than 15 minutes to do and it’s a great workout for your entire body. When you are in a rush, give it a try!”

St-Pierre shared a video of himself doing the five different exercises in his home gym with a 25kg barbell in less than a minute.

He coached alongside Couture on season four of The Ultimate Fighter back in 2006 and says it was the former UFC heavyweight champion who taught him the workout.

Towards the end of his UFC career, St-Pierre defended his title nine times during a 12-fight win streak.

He walked away from the sport after the UFC decided against making a super fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov, as they believed GSP would simply retire again no matter the result.

St-Pierre declined an offer from Kamaru Usman to fight for welterweight gold once again in 2020.

He also received an offer from Oscar De La Hoya to fight him in a boxing match and the Canadian wanted it to happen, but it was blocked by UFC boss White.

His long-term contract with the UFC only expired last year and he has previously stated that he would explore exhibition and charity fights when it was finished.
