Group K Tuesday fixtures
- Congo vs Uganda – 7pm
- South Africa vs South Sudan 7pm
After relinquishing top spot in defeat to South Africa on Friday, Uganda Cranes will hope to return to victorious ways when they take on Congo in Brazzaville on Tuesday.
The final Afcon 2025 qualifying match is more of a dead rubber for the already qualified Cranes but a reaction after a humbling 2-0 defeat to Bafana Bafana at Namboole is needed as there is also an opportunity to top the group.
With 10 points, Uganda is one behind 1996 winners Bafana Bafana who host South Sudan in their final game and victory could see Cranes finish top of Group K if the Bright Stars stun their hosts.
Congo, just like South Sudan are out of contention but will pose a challenge in front of their own fans to give them some pride.
It remains to be seen whether Paul Put will make changes to the starting XI and give chance to most of the players that haven’t had much minutes in the campaign or stick with the tested.
Taddeo Lwanga and Timothy Awany made the squad despite being subbed off on Friday while KCCA youngster Shafik Nana Kwikiriza is part of the squad after missing the defeat to South Africa due to school commitments.
Uganda Cranes Probable XI
