Uganda Cricket Association voted new office bearers for the next two years at an elective AGM held at Kati Kati on Saturday.

Michael Nuwagaba handed over the top office to Jackson Kavuma, a club delegate from Africa Cricket Club (ACC) who has served as the Hon Secretary of the association for the last two years and stepped up to lead Uganda Cricket. Kavuma defeated Fred Lutaya 10-6 in a hotly contested election.

Denis Musali defeated Jeremy Kibuuka Musoke in the race for Honorary Secretary winning by 11-5 and filling the void left by Kavuma. Musali, a club delegate for Wanderers Cricket Club, takes over for the next two years.

The annual general meeting also resolved to change the UCA constitution so that it can comply with the new Sports Law. A team of seven members from the fraternity was constructed to come up with a new constitution that will help beat the June 30th deadline set for all federations.

Uganda Cricket has a busy year with the Africa T20 finals set in September during which the Cricket Cranes will attempt to qualify for a second consecutive World Cup.

The U-19 boys will also be looking to qualify for the World Cup when they go to Nigeria later this month.
