Uganda U20 Men’s National Team has learned the teams they will face in the upcoming CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers.
In the draw conducted by CECAFA Competitions Manager, Yusuf Mossi at the Azam TV studio in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Thursday, Uganda has been pitted in Group B alongside South Sudan, Burundi and Ethiopia.
It should be noted that Uganda are the defending Champions and defeated South Sudan in the finals two years ago.
Hosts Tanzania are placed in Group A that also has Sudan, Rwanda, Djibouti and Kenya.
The Zonal qualifiers will be played between 6-20th, October 2024 in three venues, Azam Complex, KMC Stadium and the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium, all in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The best two teams in each group will automatically qualify for the semi-finals. The finalists will then qualify to represent CECAFA at the AFCON U-20 to take place next year.
Group A: Tanzania, Sudan, Rwanda, Djibouti, Kenya
Group B: Uganda, South Sudan, Burundi, Ethiopia
