The StarTimes Uganda Premier League continues with match day eight beginning on Tuesday and will run through the week until Sunday.

Here are the things to look out for in the fixtures preceding to the November International break.

Tuesday November 5

NEC vs Police (7pm)

NEC have a made strong start to the season and despite defeat at Lugazi, they remain early pacesetters and will move to top again if they beat Police.

They have a perfect home record so far but Police will be no pushovers. The returnees have only lost once in seven league matches and will give a good test to NEC

Wednesday November 6

Wakiso Giants vs Lugazi (4pm)

The Purple Sharks are winless in their last four matches and have failed to find the back of the net in any of those fixtures which puts coach Steven Bengo under pressure.

A draw against Express in their last outing will give them optimism but they face a re-energized Lugazi who has won two matches in a row after failing to win any of their first five Premier League matches.

Two wins, two clean sheets in a row gives Steven Bogere and his charges confidence going to Wakissha.

UPDF vs Mbarara City (4pm)

Following what is a decent start by their standards, both UPDF and Mbarara City were brought back to earth by big defeats to Villa and Vipers.

It will be interesting to see how they react in a game of equals at Bombo.

Friday November 8

Bright Stars vs Kitara (4pm)

Two struggling sides face off at Kavumba. Bright Stars are yet to win a game this season while Kitara have not picked maximum points since the 3-0 win on match day one at Lugazi.

Ian Mutenda, the interim head coach at Bright Stars starts reign against experienced Wasswa Bbosa who was in charge as Kitara lost 2-0 to URA in his first game.

Express vs SC Villa (7pm)

The Kampala derby returns to Nakivubo for the first time in over eight years with Express hosting rivals SC Villa.

The Red Eagles have won just once in the last five matches while Villa ended a three-match winless streak with a confidence boosting 5-0 win over UPDF.

The Jogoos have won four of the previous meetings but will find some hard time against Badru Kaddu’s men.

Saturday November 9

Maroons vs URA (4pm)

Can Maroons stun the tax collectors inside the Prison? Tough call as they head into the game on the back of just one win in seven matches.

URA feel confident after beating Kitara 2-0 and will be favourites here.

Vipers vs KCCA (7pm)

The biggest match of the round, a top of the table clash with Vipers hosting KCCA.

The visitors remain unbeaten so far, conceded one goal and scored 5 goals in their last outing but come up against the best on form side in Vipers as they have won four in as many last outings.

Another highlight of this fixture is in the dugout where Abdallah Mubiru (KCCA) and John Ayala Luyinda (Vipers SC) face off in a teacher vs student affair.

Sunday November 10

Mbale Heroes vs BUL (4pm)

Bul have put their bad start to the season behind and have now won three matches in a row putting them on 11 points.

The hosts will be desperate to get their first maximum points of the season under Asaph Mwebaze.
