- Event: Zone V Volleyball Club Championship

Following the announcement of the CAVB executive committee that granted Uganda the hosting rights of the 2025 Zone V Volleyball club championship, preparations have been in high gear.
The annual event referred from 2024 will be hosted between 22nd to 26th February 2025 at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium, Kampala.
This will be the first regional event after Uganda’s Sadik Nasiwu took over the reign of the regional body from Rwanda’s Fernand Ruterana during the 2024 CAVB Congress in Morocco.
“We received bids from Rwanda and Uganda, a decision was made to award it to Uganda” remarked Sadik Nasiwu, CAVB Zone V President.
Defending champions:
Rwanda National Police (Men) and Kenya Pipeline Corporation (Women) are the defending Champions of the event, which was hosted by Rwanda in November 2023.
The 3 top teams from the 12 countries all qualify for the championship, with exceptions made to the defending Champions, where 4 teams can make entries.
In 2019, Uganda hosted the All-Africa games qualifiers for women.
CAVB Zone V Composition:
The CAVB Zone V composes of 12 Countries, Burundi, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
