The Las Vegas Raiders slipped to 2-5 with Sunday’s defeat to the Los Angeles Rams after trading away Davante Adams.

The superstar wideout decided to head for greener pastures as he looks to win a Super Bowl before he retires.

Linking up with old pal Aaron Rodgers on the New York Jets was supposed to be the answer for player and franchise.

But the dumpster fire continues to rage with a 37-15 rout by the Pittsburgh Steelers leaving the Jets on the same record as the struggling Raiders.

Adams was held to just 30 yards and the highlight of his night was a touchdown-saving tackle on Steelers cornerback Beanie Bishop Jr. after the rookie picked off Rodgers.

“The effort right here from Davante Adams to save the pick 6 touchdown is why every player in the NFL respects him. Never quit on a play,” Robert Griffin III posted on X.

Many fans in the replies pointed out that Adams’ hamstring injury had cleared up very quickly once he joined the Jets.

He has only been in the building for days, but the former Raider pointed out the teams’ flaws.

“Just didn’t execute. The opportunities and the moments that we had to potentially put the ball in the end zone and finish a drive or get three, whatever it was. We just didn’t execute, we didn’t finish,” he told reporters in the locker room.

“That’s been the underlying thing with this team this year.

“Obviously, I’m just getting here but hopefully I can do something to be able to change that.”

Adams was seen shouting at teammate Garrett Wilson on the sideline during the loss, presumably explaining what Rodgers expects from his pass-catchers.

Wilson took it all on board, but could be forgiven for wondering if he is the problem given his brilliant start to life in the pros.

For 31-year-old Adams, he has now seen both his former and current teams dismantled by the Steelers in back-to-back weeks.

The hapless New England Patriots are up next on Sunday.

Lose that, and fingers will start to be pointed at Rodgers, although his comments after the game suggested the offensive line may be next in the crosshairs.

“I got to play better. That’s the key. I got to play better. Find a way to run the ball better, so we can actually pass,” he said after throwing two picks.

“I thought did some nice things in the passing game. Breece obviously had a couple of really nice ones.

“Spread the ball around Tae, G, and Allen (Lazard).

“Mike (Williams) had a nice conversion, but we got to run the ball better, and I got to play better.”

Robert Saleh was sacked with the team at 2-3 as owner Woody Johnson tries to break a playoff drought.

Two defeats since mean that dream is hanging by a thread.
