Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) Football Club earned their first victory of the 2024-2025 Uganda Premier League season with a 1-0 result over visiting Lugazi at the Bombo Military stadium, Bombo.
Andrew Samson Kigozi scored the match winner with 14 minutes to play to break the resilience of the league debutants.
UPDF has now fetched four points following the opening 1-all draw with Maroons on match day one.
Lugazi falls for the second time having lost 0-3 to Kitara last week at their Najjembe fortress.

Promoted from the FUFA Big League last season, Lugazi will need to re-organize their house pending Vipers’ visit next week.
Meanwhile, NEC smiled 2-1 over Kitara at the Royals Park Stadium, Butema in Hoima.
Enock Ssebagala and Gaddafi Wahabi scored the goals for visiting NEC, who are coached by Hussein Mbalangu.
Kitara’s only goal was a penalty struck by Living Kabon.

NEC has now made it 2-out-2 with six points and ascends the summit of the table standings after the 3-1 home win over Vipers on match day one.
Kitara who won 3-0 away at Lugazi succumb to their first defeat in the season, on a new home ground where they grossed Ug.Shs 55M in gate collections.
Elsewhere, Vipers brushed off visiting Express 3-0 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende under floodlights.
Team captain Milton Karisa scored twice and second half substitute Asiwome Fumador from Ghana.
