Build-up:
- Seeta United 0-0 Victoria university
Seeta United and Victoria University football teams played to a non-scoring draw during a friendly match played at the Seeta Church of Uganda playground on Wednesday, 15th January 2025.
These two teams created a couple of goal scoring opportunities but the respective defence lines remained water-tight.
Emmanuel Awada and Juma Mwanje came close to scoring for Victoria University but Seeta United goalkeeper Lawrence Rubangakene was outstanding in between the goal posts.
The build-up was equal relevance to the two teams with Seeta United preparing for their upcoming duel against Sports Club Villa in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64.
Victoria University is eyeing the resumption of the 2024-2025 University Football League (UFL) in February 2025 and head coach Jjaja Noah Mugerwa remains optimistic.
“This was a good build up for us. We showed good account of ourselves through we were unable to score against a regional club as Seeta. We shall remain in shape ahead of the University Football League resumption in February 2025” Mugerwa revealed.
Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) will confirm the new date for Seeta United against Sports Club Villa in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64 after the earlier postponement from Sunday, 12th January 2025.
