Vipers will be eager to immediately return to winning ways when they face Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba on Saturday.
The six-time league champions come into the game aware that victory will see them reclaim top spot from NEC who faltered in the 1-1 draw with URA at Nakivubo on Thursday.
With 21 points, the Venoms are just two points off the summit and will open a five-point gap between them and KCCA who play an hour later against bitter rivals Express at Lugogo.
The visitors have an impregnable record against Bright Stars as they have only lost once in the league against them in over 22 league meetings.
Ian Mutenda’s men are also in desperate mode as this fixture finds them bottom of the 16-team table with only six points after ten rounds of matches played.
They have one managed one win so far and scored a paltry five goals conceding double the number and need maximum points to move from the table base.
The visitors who were shutout for the first time this season in the goalless draw with Kitara will rely on Allan Okello, Milton Karisa and Yunus Sentamu for goals while they must guard against Shafik Kakande and Nelson Ssenkatuka at the opposite end.
In the late kick off, KCCA will host cross town rivals Express at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
