NEC FC head coach Hussein Mbalangu says his side have done enough homework on how to beat SC Villa as the two teams prepare to face off at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

The Bugolobi based side come into the game on the back of a morale boosting win over KCCA and are just one point off the table summit with 19 points.

Against Villa, they face a side that beat them home and away last season including the 2-0 defeat that handed the Jogoos their first league title in over twenty years.

“We are facing another good team and the preparations have been nearly same like we did against KCCA,” started Mbalangu. “They score a lot of goals but also concede so we have done our home work on how to take advantage of their weaknesses,” he added.

“They are a team we didn’t beat last season and not even scored no goal but we drew in the Fufa Super 8 despite falling 2-0 inside early minutes.”

Villa are also buoyed by the 6-1 win over struggling Wakiso Giants but they need to improve their away form where they have lost all but one drawn match.

Joseph Dhata, Amir Kakomo and Tarni Barni are ruled out for the hosts through injury while Cromwell Rwothomio and Marvin Kavuma are doubtful.

Geriga Atendele is also ruled out through three bookings and will miss the game.

For Villa, Hassan Mubiru is most likely to miss the game due to compassionate leave after he lost a baby.

The rest of the players including Hakim Kiwanuka and Charles Lwanga who scored goals the last time the two faced in the league are in Villa squad.

Forth placed Villa on 14 points will move within three points of leaders Vipers and just two behind second placed NEC.

Elsewhere on the day, Maroons will be at home against Bul FC at Prisons Grounds, Luzira.
