Dave Portnoy could not wait to pile on the Kansas City Chiefs’ misery.
The Barstool founder gave a scathing review of Patrick Mahomes and his team’s embarrassing Super Bowl 2025 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Portnoy, in a video posted to X captioned ‘Emergency Press Conference,’ was quick to slam those who ever compared the Chiefs dynasty to the New England Patriots‘ reign.
This was after Kansas City were demolished in a 40-22 defeat to the Eagles as they were denied a unprecedented third straight Super Bowl.
Despite playing in their fifth Super Bowl in six years, the Chiefs lacked composure as their star quarterback Mahomes was full of errors meaning the Eagles won the game in straight-forward fashion.
Portnoy was quick to pile on the criticism of the Kansas City as he slammed Mahomes and claimed his team have been embarrassed in front of the entire country.
“Alright, emergency press conference. It’s still the third quarter but the Chiefs have embarrassed themselves on a national scale. Absolutely demolished by the Eagles,” Portnoy began the video with.
“Patrick Mahomes looks like a JV quarterback. While that doesn’t take away from the fact they have got three titles.”
“It does stop the conversation – which didn’t really bother me, I thought it was funny – people comparing the New England Patriots dynasty to the Chiefs dynasty.”
Portnoy went on to further slam comparisons between Mahomes and seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady as he criticised the Chiefs quarterback’s poor display.
“They don’t even belong in the same field. The Chiefs would never, ever beat the Patriots, not in a million years,” he added.
“Patrick Mahomes is not Tom Brady. Tom Brady has never puked on himself in the way Patrick Mahomes just did.”

“And I know Patrick Mahomes doesn’t like Barstool – big deal. He was awful, couldn’t rise up, no protection, fine. Brady would have found a way so let’s just end that.”
Portnoy continued in his damning review of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl showing by reminding viewers that Mahomes’ three rings pale in comparison to the amount Brady has.
“There’s a big difference between six Super Bowl rings – Brady has seven in total – but six Super Bowl rings and three,” the American businessman continued.
“Patriots have never embarrassed themselves like that in a big game, ever. They have never been blown out like that in a Super Bowl. Mahomes isn’t the same league as Tom Brady.”
The 47-year-old’s rant on Kansas City even extended to their head coach as made clear that along with the Mahomes and Brady comparisons, the Andy Reid and Bill Belichick debates have ended too.
“Andy Reid isn’t in the same league as Bill Belichick. We got a terrible game but at least it settled that debate,” Portnoy said.
“You know what’s crazy. The Eagles shoulda beaten the Chiefs twice in the Super Bowl. Also the Chiefs have gotten crushed twice in super bowls.
“They gotta be the weakest dynasty of all time.”
While the Chiefs will be expected to regroup and go again next season, a piece of history and the title of the greatest dynasty has slipped away from them.
