Wednesday racing tips
- HEXHAM
1.45: Reverend Hubert 5/2 (1pt)
2.20: Destiny Is All (to place) 20/23 (2pts) - WARWICK
1.35: Rubber Ball 7/1 Each-way (1pt)
2.10: Booster Bob 11/4 (1pt)
Reverend Hubert
Won twice over fences including ahead of Solitary Man back in June over 3m and returns to fences for the first time in this season after a decent few runs in the summer.
He was a respectable sixth of seven behind Ashdale Bob in a Grade 3 in August too and shouldn’t be discounted here against Cadell.
Cadell won on second attempt over fences but has to contend with a huge 14lb rise which seems steep considering he faced just two rivals with the favourite failing to jump fluently.
Reverend Hubert is actually rated 6lb higher over fences than what he carries here and has only been seen on the flat and over hurdles just ten days prior.
Dangerous back over fences with superior form and has a much better price.
Destiny Is All / Breeze Of Wind
Destiny Is All was a close fourth over course and distance (4m) in March off just 1lb lower and though he carries top-weight here has Jack Power on board again who helped this horse win by a neck at Ayr last time out.
Breeze Of Wind has won four times from ten races over fences and the seven-year-old has gotten into the habit of being right up there in tough stamina contests.
Including winning ahead of Destiny Is All here in March, where he was given 6lb in weight.
He’s now being given 7lb in weight with the winner not really being upped by the handicapper in his last three races where he’s placed 4th in slightly bigger fields.
The extra 4lb from jockey Jack Power on Destiny Is All is interesting though, given over 4m that can turn out to be a huge difference.
These two are the clear choices betting wise, though over 4m so much can happen and place betting on the bigger priced horse is wiser.
Rubber Ball
Usually in these kinds of races I’d be all on the experienced hurdler over the debutant.
But Rubber Ball appeals for a few reasons as he placed not far off Block Rocking Beats in a bumper at Cheltenham last month.
That run has of course worked out quite well as the front two with Fortune De Mer were first and second again in the listed fillies bumper in the November Meeting at the weekend.
Rubber Ball also won a point in April and should do well over hurdles.
He’s given 8lb by Olly Murphy’s runner due to the penalty from winning over hurdles last month, so he’s one to consider.
Booster Bob
Was an eyecatcher last month in the way he cruised into contention on chase debut.
He comes up against Move It Like Minnie once again, but was looking to be in control to bet that horse at Ffos Las before he unseated his rider.
They run off the same mark now but that shouldn’t be enough especially with Sean Bowen and Olly Murphy in charge with the form they’re in.
