West Ham v Bournemouth prediction

Both teams head into their match up on the back of a poor run of form. West Ham are without a win in three league games while Bournemouth are without a win in five.

The Cherries were upset by likely relegation candidates Ipswich on Wednesday, a goal either side of the half from Ipswich forwards Nathan Broadhead and Liam Delap gave The Tractor Boys a two-goal cushion with Bournemouth only able to get one back through Evanilson’s ninth goal of the season.

Bournemouth sat in fifth just one point behind Manchester City midway through February but have since seen their hopes of European qualification fade, with just one point out of a possible 15 they now sit in tenth.

However, there is hope that Bournemouth starman Justin Kluivert will return for their trip to London. The midfielder has 12 goals and six assists in the Premier League this season but missed The Cherries game against Ipswich following a knock he picked up during the international break.

West Ham are hopeful that they will have a returning forward also, with Mohammed Kudus likely to feature after missing out in West Ham’s 1-0 loss to Wolves midweek. Despite picking up just one point in their last three games, Graham Potter’s side sit comfortably away from any relegation battle and equal on points with Tottenham in 14th.

The Hammers are unbeaten in their last eight against The Cherries, with the last meeting between the two ending one goal a piece, Lucas Paqueta thought he won it with a penalty in the 87th minute before Enes Unal responded just three minutes later.

West Ham to win 1-0, Jarrod Bowen to score or assist and over 2.5 cards for Bournemouth – 20/1 on copybet

Jarrod Bowen scored the winner in his last appearance against Bournemouth to knock the Cherries out of the EFL Cup. The English winger has 14 goal contributions in the Premier League so far, with four of those coming in his last seven games.

Only Chelsea (84) and Southampton (77) have picked up more yellow cards than The Cherries with 74, with only three players in the league receiving more yellow cards than the nine by Bournemouth duo Antoine Semenyo and Ryan Christie.

West Ham have scored one goal or less in eight of their last nine fixtures, with Bournemouth scoring one or less goals in six of their last seven. There has also not been a game between the two where either side has scored more than one goal in their last four meetings, which are all trends I expect to continue, with West Ham likely to just edge it at their home ground.
