Who is performing at the Super Bowl halftime show and who will be singing the National Anthem?

The 59th edition of the Super Bowl will be taking place in February and a world superstar will be performing in the halftime show. 

One of sport’s most prestigious games is heading to New Orleans as the NFL’s showpiece is held at Caesars Superdome.

Who is performing at the Super Bowl halftime show?

Kendrick Lamar will be performing at halftime of Super Bowl LIX

The 17-time Grammy-winning rapper will be putting on his own show after featuring as a guest performer with Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg in 2022. 

Speaking after his performance was announced, Lamar said: “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. 

“And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

Lamar will perform some of his most famous songs while showing off recent tracks and potentially bringing out surprise guests. 

He follows in the footsteps of Usher who was last year’s halftime performer. 

Music icons Prince, Michael Jackson and Beyonce have all also had the honour and highlight a star-studded group of artists to appear at the Super Bowl. 

Over the last decade, artists such as Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and Rihanna have all put on a show for the world.

Who will be singing the National Anthem?

It is yet to be confirmed who will be signing the national anthem. 

More details will be revealed closer to the Super Bowl. 

Last year, country icon Reba McEntire performed the national anthem while in 2023 it was Chris Stapleton who had the honour.

Super Bowl LIX is set to take place on Sunday, February 9.
