Uganda and South Africa could be playing for pride when they face off at the Mandela National stadium, Namboole on Friday November 15.
The two nations are on the brink of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations from Group K with Uganda currently leading with 10 points, two points ahead of Bafana Bafana.
Congo follows in third place with 4 points while South Sudan are already eliminated as they have no point at this stage.
The Red Devils visit the Bright Stars on Thursday November 14 and this fixture will determine whether Uganda – South Africa clash holds any importance in terms of determining who qualifies.
Congo must beat South Sudan in Juba to remain with a chance of going into the final game with an opportunity and such a result will mean Uganda and South Africa have all to play for.
However, defeat or draw for Congo in Juba means both Uganda and South Africa will go into the Friday clash already qualified and thus play for pride.
In this case, Uganda on 10 points will have unassailable lead over the Congolese and can afford losing to Bafana Bafana and Congo but still qualify and it is the same for South Africa who have a better head to head versus the Central African nation.
