Scott Arniel’s troops continue to roll over each opponent they square off against, their latest victim the New York Rangers. The Jets walked into The World’s Most Famous Arena defeating The Broadway Blueshirts 6-3 on Tuesday evening.

Jon Cooper’s men are back in action after having a lengthy full-week layoff between games. The Bolt’s most recent affair saw them lose 2-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers in the shootout. With the setback, the Lightning are winless in their last four contests.

Winnipeg Jets at Tampa Bay Lightning predictions

After failing to register a point in three previous outings, Kyle Conner put on a show at MSG. The Jets’ leading goal and point-getter added to his season total Tuesday night, just shy of 21 minutes of work, the Left Winger picked up two goals and an assist.

Mark Scheifele opened the scoring within a minute of the opening puck drop. The Centre scored Winnipeg’s fourth goal in the third period, which proved to be the winning goal. The 31-year-old has inked his name on the stat sheet in his last eight games, tallying 11 points.

In the blue paint for the Jets, Connor Hellebuyck had a busy night in the office against the Rangers, facing 36 shots. The net-minder produced 33 saves, which happened to be his third consecutive match where has made 30 or more saves. Through 13 starts, the shot-stopper possesses a .934 save percentage.

Once again Nikita Kucherov will be leaned upon to carry the Lightning to their first win since October 30. The two-time Art Ross trophy winner has garnered 23 points in 14 games this year. Oddly though at home, Kucherov’s production has decelerated only capturing six points in as many games.

With his status day-to-day due to injury, the Lightning could use the services of Brayden Point back at centre. The 28-year-old last played on November 3, against the Jets. Throughout his 12 appearances, Point has cataloged eight goals and five assists.

Winnipeg Jets at Tampa Bay Lightning tips

The Jets will look to make it eight consecutive road wins taking their talents to Tampa Bay Thursday night with all the momentum. The Bolts are off to a subpar start to the season but currently boast a 4-1-1 record at Amalie Arena.

These two adversaries have already encountered each other on November 3, where Winnipeg won a barnburner, winning 7-4 in front of their home faithful.

We could see another high-scoring affair as the Jets last five road games have gone over the total mark. In Winnipeg’s last eight trips down to Tampa, the total has eclipsed the goal total mark on six occasions.

Overall for the Lightning, the total has gone over in six of their last nine games facing off against a team in the Central Division. We should see the goal lamp put to good use with these two high-flying offensive teams both averaging 3.5 goals per game.
